Hello audience. Unfortunately, I am still on my break. However, I am happy to announce that I am still alive and kicking. In fact, I decided to make use of my unemployment and revisit HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create... A visual novel.

Good News: code is 100% reusable because I used a JSON (i do not know how that works, someone can kindly explain to me...)

Bad News: this code sucks ass, and NOTHING works except playing the story. Transitions? Doesn't work. UI/UX? Ass. Effects? Hell no... Also, 70% of the features aren't present yet I'm gonna do it later.

Welcome, Holly

Holly was born December 13, 1934 and terrorized her parents' thoughts for 10 months straight, being a month late only adding to their worries of a later aged birth.

This was Tea's first time having a kid at the hospital. The first two times, with Cuphead and with Mugman, her aunt delivered them. So she was at home, where it felt safe, and she could be around family. Her aunt was no longer here this time around, so she had to go to the hospital.

Everybody wanted to know Joe's reaction to the pregnancy, I mean like, I literally had 17 asks in there about "WHAT'S JOE GONNA SAY" lol. He was really suspicious when Tea kept pulling a "Oh yeah, everything went fine!" while prepping and serving dinner for the night, but hadn't expected anything like pregnancy. He could just tell she was totally bullshitting, and confronted her before bed, making her tell him the truth. He was okay with it, excited about it even -he loves babies- until Tea brought it to his attention about her age and the safety of the baby and her. Of course that worried him, but he was supportive and said he'd be there with whatever she chose to do about it. She chose to go through with it, and Joe was clingy af ofc because he just gets like that when he wants to make sure things are okay.

Being her 3rd time through pregnancy (all the way through) she knew the run, but being older, it felt more harsh. Ended up going on leave for her cart job early this time, month 5 instead of 7 like she did the last few times. Plus, she wanted to be around family, just in case she wouldn't get to see them much longer...

When Holly decided it was time at 2AM, Joe wrangled the rest of his little shits and got Tea to the hospital, and after arguing with a nurse, for the first time, Joe got to be with his wife while his kid was being born (and wasn't 5 or 2 minutes too late because of work) Mhm, yes those are his pjs lmfao

Well, as good as things with the delivery were going at first, at the end, Holly had trouble breathing. Soon she was fine once they got her out, but still, scary shit. (I was one of those babies! I turned blue :) )

Because of Christmas being near, and her reddish nose, and the deadly situation I am jk that is not why they named her Holly.

Then after this moment with captured, the other kids come bursting in and ruin it. The end.

Advice for making stuff work well in Debian?

Hmm, most of the troubleshooting I do is weird architecture issues that won't impact anyone running Debian for x64 but off the top of my head

If you know exactly what package you want, command line package manager use is just fine, but GUI frontends are pretty nice for searching through things if you want to actually read some details on what you're installing. Yeah you can just use debian's web-based apt stuff but it's not convenient to do that. Using a frontend is convenient.

This is non-debian-specific advice but most of the time if I need to do something more complex than like, crop an image or maybe put a color filter on it, I just use photopea because it being online means it works on just about anything. It's not quite as advanced as Photoshop but most of the capabilities it lacks are rather small and niche, as opposed to like "You can't do outlined text" (thanks GIMP) (Also you can run whatever image editor in wine if you want and if you have a better computer than I currently do (rip to my good one) it's worth giving a go. Sometimes you need to do some config but lovely linux users on the internet will often give you the exact settings you need to get the program working :))

MComix is a good CBZ viewer

If you install imagemagick, it may change or mess up your settings for default image viewer. imagemagick is a divine and beautiful program but its image viewer totally sucks so change it back if it does this.

This is mostly fairly specific huh.... Most of the time my computer Just Works for me. I can do troubleshooting for a great many issues but generalized advice is a little harder X'D

I've been contemplating this for a bit and I've decided to follow int he footsteps of other artists and use my writing to help palestine!

for the forseeable future, I'll be taking comissions for fics in exchange for donations to either operation olive branch or care for gaza, alternatively you can buy an esim!

He's the most normal of the Dudes, normal upbringing and a (mostly) normal life.

Got bullied in school once - it stopped once he sucker punched the kid in question.

Second strongest of the Dudes; his baggy clothes just hide it (which he prefers because element of surprise).

Has an elaborate display section in a corner of his house for his action figures.

No matter what AU or anything, he always at least has an unlikely friendship with Novel.

4/100 days of productivity.

First weekend reached. Noice. Didn't get a lot done today, was feeling a little under the weather; my eyes were tired and I had a headache.

Finished actual creation of files & classes for AP Computer Science project refactor, now it's just debugging

Read 3 more chapters of Catch-22 for AP Lit. New information: soldiers REALLY like having sex.

Edited college application essays; I only have my state college system left, and all of my out-of-state applications have been sent.

Self Care:

Took a midday nap when my eye pain became unbearable, slept for 3 hours, felt a lot better

Took a walk in the morning. Fall air do be kinda peak
